My brother came out of surgery okay, but it took much longer than they thought. They also removed his lymph nodes and it will be at least a week before they get the results to see if the cancer has spread. That will determine the need for and the type of chemo he will receive.

My BIL is not getting better, in fact, his temp keeps spiking to 104 and they cannot figure out what has brought this on. He’s on a respirator and hasn’t been able to talk since Friday last week. More tests are being done today, looking beyond his lungs to see if there is something else there they don’t know about.

I am supposed to go to Stitches tomorrow and Friday and take classes. It feels incredibly selfish to do this right now, but I also need to take this time for myself. The last year has been rough and it may be what keeps me sane.

I have been working on baby socks and almost have one pair finished. It’s all I’ve had the energy for. And a tiny bit of spinning.

  1. Holding your bro & BIL in my thoughts for healing. It’s so hard to go through times like this.

Don’t feel bad about taking care of yourself. If you step away and refresh, you can come back with more energy. And often there’s not really much you can actually DO except sit around and worry. And that takes a lot of energy. (Ask me how I know this…) 🙂

  2. I am thinking about you and your family! I agree with Janice. You need to recharge your batteries and do something for yourself. You are only a phone call away and you can leave anytime, if you really need to. Can’t wait to see you soon and give you a big hug!

  3. Sandy, Please go to Stitches. You need the break – and there is nothing you can do by staying away…

My thoughts are with all of you…

  4. I am sending good thoughts your way. You need to take care of YOU sometimes too. You have lots of folks depending on your (supposed) sanity. 🙂 I can’t wait to see you!! We love you both!
